Quickmap Could Not Find Required Data In C:\Quickmap\Data\ And Cannot Continue

When installing Quickmap you may get this error:

Quickmap cannot run – Missing Quickmap Data

Quickmap could not find required data in X:\Quickmap\Data\
and cannot continue. e.g. file C:\Quickmap\Data\Topo\nz.lvl
could not be found.

Quickmap will now Exit.

or, you may get this version of the error:

Quickmap: Unexpected Error Encountered

Quickmap could not find required Topographical data in
C:\Quickmap\Data\Topo and cannot continue.  e.g. file
C:\Quickmap\Data\Topo\nz.lvl could not be found.

This is because Quickmap can’t find the data in the location it expects to see it. This could be because either the computer has detected settings from a previous installation of Quickmap, which points to an invalid location, or because the account running the Quickmap installer doesn’t have permission to (or can’t otherwise access) the data files. Th is could also be due to a corrupt data directory, which may be fixed by reinstalling the data. This could also be due to a firewall blocking access.
